05/01/2010
“This is one of the easiest cars to rate… so it’s no problem to say now that this is the most obvious 10/10 rating BusinessCar has, and probably will, give a car. This car really is a massive achievement.”
Paul Barker, Business Car. August 2009.
BMW will launch the first ever premium executive saloon to emit less than 110g/km of CO2 in March 2010 helping lower costs and improve fleet efficiencies.
With CO2 emissions of only 109g/km the BMW 320d ED Saloon delivers a host of benefits to the corporate sector: not least of which is the 100% first year capital write down allowance. This allows fleets that purchase outright and leasing companies, the opportunity to offset the car’s full first year depreciation against tax. Your drivers also benefit by being subject to the lowest diesel benefit in kind tax rate of just 13%, resulting in lower company car tax bills.
EfficientDynamics technologies also mean that while the new 320d ED accelerates from 0-62mph in just 8.2 seconds, it achieves a remarkable 68.9mpg on the combined cycle, helping to reduce running costs with no loss of driver appeal, it’s dynamic handling is enhanced by BMW’s signature 50:50 weight distribution and rear wheel drive chassis.
Consider that all of the above comes at the same price and the same specification as the existing 320d SE (which includes two-zone air-conditioning, rear Park Distance Control and multi-function leather steering wheel), and the new 320d ED is likely to prove a strong performer on the used market, which means low running costs and highly competitive hire rates.
